Indi Tyton™ also known as Dr. India Dorsey-Gaston, grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, listening to music rooted in R&B, soul, jazz, blues, and classical. Music has always been a part of her life. A third generation singer, she grew up listening to stories about her paternal grandmother’s “big-band era” jazz singing experiences, attending her father, Rodney Dorsey's performances with The Ebony Diamonds and also watching her aunt, the late, Lauretta Dorsey Young, who was a world-renowned opera singer and music educator.
Although Indi had been a part of several choirs growing up, she did not begin writing songs until her second year of college and discovered that she had a natural ability to turn words into beautiful melodies. Feeling a little hesitant to enter into the music business as an artist, she spent quite a few years working on the business side of music, and also pursued other educational interests.
The time eventually came when Indi found the courage to contribute to the musical legacy of her family. Proceeding with the belief that "everything happens for a reason" and "good time is never waisted".
Indi is a multi-faceted artist with projects in music, film and dance. She is the founder of the Entertainment Leadership Academy, LLC and is also a Business Psychologist that focuses on the Entertainment Industry. What she has learned from all of her experiences is that they all should work together for God's purpose. One of her missions in life is to use all of her talents for the "Greater Good" and to show the world that the Sky is the Limit! Indi 's first album, "Society's View" and two single releases, "Something About You" and "My Love" are available on-line. She is currently working on her new music and film projects.
